Innovating Internal Training with a Consulting Perspective
When ACS Group first contacted us, about two or three years ago, it was already a structured and well-positioned company in the IT sector. We're talking about a company that offers advanced cybersecurity services, IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and managed services, with an ever-increasing focus on data protection and business continuity. In short, a solid technology partner for many Italian companies.
However, despite the high level of internal technical expertise, there was one area that showed some weaknesses: training and content management via an e-learning platform.

A technical platform, but under-utilized.
ACS Group already used a platform based on ILIAS, a robust but complex tool that requires targeted configuration and maintenance to reach its full potential. Previous vendors limited themselves to managing the technical side: they responded to technical issues and fixed errors, but there was a complete lack of a consulting approach. No one supported them in understanding how to best structure content, why certain tools were useful, or which choices truly promoted learning.
It was in this context that we stepped in, initially offering targeted consulting on the platform. Our approach was well received and built trust, so much so that the following year, ACS Group decided to transfer the entire platform hosting to our systems, also entrusting us with the complete upgrade from ILIAS 7 to the new version 9.

A platform serving the company's divisions.
The ACS e-learning platform is currently used by various company functions, each with its own objectives and methods. These range from new employee onboarding to ongoing training for sales, marketing, and technical support (Service) departments.
Among these, the most mature project is onboarding, which we have worked on most thoroughly: structured content, clear paths, role assignments, and an interface designed for easy access and use.
On the other hand, other departments are still in their infancy: often they simply upload Teams meeting recordings, without a real learning strategy. However, here too, the process is evolving, and we are ready to provide more robust consulting as soon as the team is ready to resume active work.
Graphical restyling and user experience optimization.
One of the most visible aspects we worked on was the graphical and functional restyling of the platform. Starting from the login page, the interface is now cleaner, more consistent, and more modern.
We introduced a "tile" navigation system, which simplifies access to courses and makes the environment much more user-friendly. The changes are not only aesthetic, but have a real impact on the user experience:
- Content is organized within thematic folders.
- By clicking on each folder, you can access the associated courses without having to navigate back and forth.
- Courses are opened via modal pop-ups, which display all the learning objects (videos, quizzes, materials) in a concentrated and easily accessible way, without distractions or constant reloading.
The result is a more organized interface, allowing users to focus on the content, without getting lost in menus, windows, and unnecessary steps.
A new approach to IT training.
The project with ACS demonstrates how even companies with a strong technological background can benefit enormously from a strategic training vision. It's not enough to simply "make a platform work": you need to guide the client towards effective use, consistent with their internal objectives.
ACS has understood that training isn't just a matter of tools, but of experience, organization, and culture. And it's precisely in this transition, from technical to consultative, that our contribution has made the difference.
Today, the work continues. The platform is ready to grow and adapt, and we look forward to reactivating the next steps, once the ACS team is operational on this front again.
Conclusions.
With ACS Group, we've built a project that goes beyond technical support. We've transformed an underutilized platform into an integrated corporate tool, capable of guiding employees and departments through specific, visually refined, and functional training programs.
This case study demonstrates how important it is, even in the IT world, to combine technology with a consultative and human approach, placing people at the center of training.
